Seventh stage SILK WAY 2017: URUDZHAR – KARAMAY
Today´s stage was relatively short compared to the others. But even in this short stage we could not avoid problems. We had to fight with a cracked hose, water leakage to the engine, and overheating of the engine, which was continuously above 100 °C. We stood for about 20 minutes, so we were overtaken by almost everyone we had already outperformed. What should we add…
At the connecting stage, we crossed the border from Kazakhstan to China. We´re in the bivouac and we´re dealing with what to do next. We have one demanding solution, but we do not know the outcome of the negotiations and whether we will continue the race. We should be in for the first sands tomorrow and we surely cannot overcome this challenge with our problem. Hold your fingers crossed for us to come to a happy ending. In spite of all the troubles, we would like to continue our testing and debugging of our Queen, because otherwise we are pleased with a lot of things. And we cannot substitute a test at the race pace with anything. We will be wiser tomorrow and let you know what the KARAMAY-URUMQI stage will bring to our crew. The total length of the stage is 436 km and the measured section is 250 km.
Think of us! Aleš and the team.
