Ireland’s most popular budget Car Racing series, the Mondello Park promoted Fiesta Championship, will hit the track this season with a new title sponsor following the announcement of award winning Blackchurch Motors support of the series. For 2015 the popular class for near standard Ford Fiestas will be known as the Blackchurch Motors Fiesta Championship.
Blackchurch Motors are based in Rathcoole Co. Dublin and specialise in Ford maintenance and repairs. They are also heavily involved in tuning of road, race and rallycars through their rolling road service. Having prepared cars for the championship over the last two seasons the Ford specialists will now expand their involvement to become title sponsor.
As part of their involvement Blackchurch will put up a substantial prize fund for both the overall championship and the rookie cup. €3,000 will be on offer to the more experienced drivers fighting for the overall championship while a fantastic €2,000 fund will be on offer for first time racers in the Rookie division.
The ten race Blackchurch Motors Fiesta Championship will run over over six events at Mondello Park during 2015, starting on March 15th and running through to the season finale in September. Drivers will also have the opportunity to race at non-championship events at Bishopscourt in Co. Down, Brands Hatch In England and Mondello Park’s season ending 6 hour Endurance Race.
The Mondello Park championship races will be televised on the Circuit’s own Live Streaming TV Channel Mondello.TV. Fiesta fans can also follow the series on Mondello Park’s web site and the championships’ dedicated facebook page.
