Andrew Purcell and Liam Brennan took a narrow win in the second round of the Valvoline National Forest Rally Championsip, the Donegal MC Allingham Arms Hotel event at Bundoran. After six stages, they were just seven seconds ahead of Monaghan pair Josh Moffett and Jason McKenna in another Lancer Evo, with Mick and James O’Brien, who won the opening round three weeks ago, third in their Focus to retain their championship lead.

The Escort of Mickey Conlon was best of the two wheel drive cars in fifth place, with Patrick O’Brien’s Citroen winning the Junior class.

Novice pair Keith McConnon and Micheal McCluskey trounced all the experts in the final round of the National Navigation Trial Championship in Monaghan, losing just three marks during the 120 mile route compared to 36 for the newly crowned champions, Pakie Duffy and Evin Hughes who finished second.
