The Countdown to the ALMC Motor Club Stages Rally on the weekend of the 4/5th of July continued on Wednesday 10th June, when the Rally Launch took place at the Rally HQ, the Castle Arch Hotel in Trim, Co. Meath.
The Launch was very well attended, with representation from Trim Area Councillors, Rally Sponsors, An Garda Siochana, local media, the Midlands East Rally Championship Committee, as well as a large turn-out of ALMC Club members.
The organisation of the Rally is progressing at a rapid pace, with three Special Stages, Safety Plan and important elements of the event such as Service Area, Parc Ferme, and Ceremonial Start all now in place in and around Trim. Entries to this year’s Rally are now arriving on a daily basis, with regular ALMC Stages competitors from the UK and all parts of Ireland now focussing their attention on the challenging roads of Co. Meath.
Speaking at the Launch, ALMC Stages Rally Clerk of the Course, John Carroll, emphasised the importance of Safety at this year’s event, not only on the Special Stages themselves but also on the roads in the area over the Rally weekend itself. Like all Motorsport Ireland affiliated clubs, the message to all road users over the Rally weekend is;
Keep the Race in its Place!
With nearly a year’s work by ALMC Club members on the Rally, from the selection of Special Stages, to securing the necessary locations to run the event, the Rally promises to be a fascinating weekend for locals and Motorsport enthusiasts all over the country.
