F Ford – McMullan fired up for home circuit return
Newtownabbey, Antrim, Northern Ireland – Current Dunlop Motorsport Ireland Young Racing Driver of the Year Jonny McMullan returns to Kirkistown this weekend for rounds seven and eight of the 2015 All Ireland Formula Ford Championship.
Having made his 2015 debut at the Newtownards circuit in March of this year, McMullan’s weekend was somewhat a baptism of fire with a win in race one, but contact towards the end of race two leaving both him and championship rival Jake Byrne off the track at the hairpin.
However the current BRSCC British National Formula Ford Championship leader will be hoping for a clean weekend to add another two race victories to his impressive 2015 trophy cabinet and propel himself into the lead of the All-Ireland championship.
Jonny McMullan – Dunlop Motorsport Ireland Young Racing Driver of the Year:
“Since I last visited Kirkistown my season has been going very well. We’ve opened up a good lead in the BRSCC National Championship in the UK and recently come away from Mondello Park where we won the Vivion Daly Trophy. I like Kirkistown as it’s my home circuit so I’ll be aiming for nothing less than two wins and some good racing this weekend to try and get us into the lead of the All Ireland Championship.”
