Alex Dunne, 10, has continued his strong vein of form in 2016 and recently scored his first UK win at PF International circuit in Lincolnshire. Alex is an Irish cadet racer, competing in Super 1 and the LGM series in the UK with AIM Motorsport Cadet Team. Having qualified third in group and fifth overall, the student at Educate Together, Newbridge scored his first heat win of the the incredibly competitive Kart Masters event. Unfortunately, despite his race winning pace, Alex suffered subsequent mechanical issues in both the pre final and final, stymying his challenge for an outright win.
Last weekend, Alex returned to the Motorsport Ireland Karting Championships at Athboy. Coming off the back of a successful two day UK test, he was unable to test at the Meath venue but was still immediately on the pace, winning his first heat, coming second in the pre final and winning the final in what is one of the most competitive classes in the country.
For the remainder of 2016, Alex will continue to compete in both the UK Super One and LGM series in the UK and will dovetail these commitments with some club races on both sides of the Irish sea.
