Wexford driver Peter Dwyer had a good weekend at Bishopscourt, in Co Down, when he scored a double in the Boss Ireland Formula Libre races. In the opening race, he led Donal Griffin from Shannon home after a four car battle to the chequered flag, with the quartet all finishing within 1.5 seconds.
In race two, Dwyer was again the winner, this time by a clear five seconds from Eamonn Matheson, with Colm Hynes taking third. Dan Polley was another double victor in the Formula Vee races, chased home by Colm Blackburn each time. Alan Auerbach was the man to beat among the Strykers, with Rod McGovern and Jonathan Fildes sharing the spoils in the Seat Supercup outings.
David Condell and Michael Coady took a narrow win in the Carlow Stages Rally, just three seconds ahead of the similar Escort of Adrian Hetherington and Ronan O’Neill after leading for most of the day.
