KAMAZ-Master Team aims to retain Dakar title
On 6 January in Lima in the capital of Peru, marks the start of the 40th anniversary Dakar Rally. By the morning of 4 January KAMAZ-master Team that flew to the race in two groups, safely gathered in Peruvian capital. Two days went in preparatory technical and regulation works.
On the morning of the 5th January administrative checks and scruteneering awaited the team. They are obligatory before the race and represent all kinds of control and other procedures, from photographing participants and mounting of navigation equipment to conformity checks of race vehicles to the race technical regulations.
On Dakar-2018 KAMAZ-master has four crews:
500 Pilot E.Nikolaev; navigator E.Yakovlev; mechanic V.Rybakov.
502 Pilot D.Sotnikov; navigator R.Akhmadeev; mechanic I.Mustafin.
507 Pilot A.Mardeev; navigator A.Belyaev; mechanic D.Svistunov.
515 Pilot A.Shibalov; navigator D.Nikitin; mechanic I.Romanov.
By 12:00 local time the race KAMAZ-master trucks, successfully passed scruteneering, and moved to the Parc Fermé. The access to the vehicles is limited until the start of the race.
In opinion of KAMAZ-master team leader Vladimir Chagin, there are two weeks of tough sport fight ahead. KAMAZ members will have to work hard in order to keep the title of Dakar champions.
