Two Special Stage Wins recorded
Aleš Loprais has taken the overall lead after winning stages three and fourth of the competition. Instaforex Loprais Team is now sitting in the first place in the Truck category after the first half of the event and enjoys a 30-minute long lead over the second place.
“We’ve managed to win our second stage yesterday and we moved into the lead. And then we did it again this morning. But it’s getting tougher and tougher and there’s also a real risk that our truck can suddenly break down. It’s difficult as you can see we’re following the footsteps of original Dakar race and it’s a wonderful test,” said Aleš Loprais.
But it was not easy as the team had one unpleasant moment during the stage four: “We had this one moment when it all looked like we’re going to have to lift the car. However, Aleš reacted very quickly and it all ended up well. We also had a bit of problem with our sensors which were showing higher temperatures than they really were. But we’re going to fix that now and we will be ready for tomorrow,” said team’s mechanic Petr Pokora.
Four more long stages are remaining in this competition, but this team is ready for them. The Tatra truck with number 506 is ready. The event ends on Sunday, 22nd April.
