Jordan Dempsey, the Motorsport Ireland and Sport Ireland Young Racing Driver of the Year for 2017 is set to make his international racing debut next weekend having completed a deal to race in the 2018 Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda.

The 17-Round championship boasts a staggering 37 car grid for the opening round to be held at the Virginia International Raceway, located just half a mile from the Virigina / North Carolina boarder.

Racing in a field of equal cars built by French manufacturer Onroak Automotive and powered by Honda, the FIA Formula 4 regulations are designed to offer an affordable platform for young drivers to showcase their talents, while also learning how to race cars with slick tyres and wings for aerodynamic performance. This platform is the perfect opportunity for Dempsey to showcase his natural ability. Pre-season testing has so far shown him to be one to watch at the opening rounds this weekend.

With the support of Motorsport Ireland, Sport Ireland, the Team Ireland initiative and new for 2018 commercial partner, Digital Planet, Dempsey is firmly focused on making the most of the opportunity, having re-located to the USA to fully concentrate on his racing programme for 2018 which also includes supporting the US Formula 1 Grand Prix later this year at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas.

Jordan Dempsey – #94 Primus Racing Formula 4:
“I’m really looking forward to working with the Primus Racing Team in the Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda. I’ve been working with these guys for a few weeks now and I can see just how hard they work. There is no stone being left unturned for this season. A massive thank you to Digital Planet, Motorsport Ireland, Sport Ireland and Team Ireland for getting me here! I can’t wait to get racing this weekend at VIR!”
