Meanwhile Ford Trucks Increases Its Support of Motorsports
During the ceremony, Topçu said that Ford Trucks supports motorsports globally, and continued:
“As one of the largest producers in the international heavy commercial vehicles industry, we at Ford Trucks combine over 55 years of truck manufacturing experience with our product development capabilities to meet the market’s needs. Following the Middle East, Africa, Russia and Stan regions, our expansion now continues in East&Central Europe. As an international brand, we are committed to investing in and supporting motorsports. Our first collaboration in this context was with Ford GT racing team for FIA World Endurance Championship, which is in its third year now. For this collaboration, we provided four vehicles to transport Ford GTs during the Championship. Our next goal is to take VDR Racing to the 2019 Dakar Rally in Peru as part of our collaboration. Our support of motorsports now continues with M-Sport and we are very pleased to partner with such a successful company. Mr. Wilson and his team have been competing in world rally circuits with great success since 1997. We are also very happy with this partnership because our new tractor is becoming a part of our motorsports sponsorship. We are very happy to offer our new tractor for the service of M-Sport already prior to the world premiere. The new tractor will serve the rally team in 2019 and 2020 on the roads to world rallies. I wish luck and success to both parties and would like to thank Malcolm Wilson and the M-Sport Team for making this partnership deal possible.”
Speaking at the ceremony, M-Sport Managing Director Malcolm Wilson OBE, said: “It’s great to see our long and prestigious relationship with the Blue Oval expand to incorporate a new partnership with Ford Trucks from 2019. Their new tractor unit looks set to be another industry favourite, and it’s fantastic to have their support as we continue to strive for the best possible results in the FIA World Rally Championship.”
New F-MAX, which received its world premiere on September 19 at the IAA CV Show, was honoured with the International Truck of the Year 2019 Award at the Hannover Messe.
