Dubliner Noel Greene scored a comfortable win in the second round of the Parts for Cars National Rallycross Championship at Tynagh, Co Galway, yesterday. His Mitsubishi Mirage won the Supercar Final to qualify for the day’s main race, and he then ran away with the Super Final, beating former National title holder Willie Coyne’s Corsa by seven seconds.

Coyne had earlier beaten his brother Michael in the Modified Final, but had no hope of mounting a challenge against Greene’s four wheel drive turbocharged machine. Michael Coyne was forced to retire from the main race with problems on the opening lap.

Corkman Daragh O’Riordan was the clear winner of the Rose Hotel Circuit of Kerry Rally at Tralee, finishing the nine stages almost a minute and a half ahead of Pat O’Connell’s Lancer Evo 10, with Welsh visitor Tomas Davies another minute down in third place.
