M-Sport and Ford are proud to complete a fully updated ‘Ladder of Opportunity’ with the introduction of the all-new EcoBoost-powered Ford Fiesta R1 – the second new car to be produced by the team at M‑Sport Poland’s headquarters in Krakow.

Like the EcoBoost-powered Ford Fiesta R2 that was introduced late last year, and the all-new Ford Fiesta R5 which made its first public appearance last week, the Fiesta R1 is based on the road‑going Ford Fiesta ST-Line and combines motorsport technology in Europe’s best-selling car in its category.

As the first step on the ladder, the all-new Ford Fiesta R1 is the perfect starter for those looking to embark upon a career in rallying; and the design team at M-Sport Poland have upgraded the engine, transmission, brakes and electronics to ensure that the Fiesta R1 provides the stars of the future with the best car in its class.

The turbo charged 999cc Ford EcoBoost engine delivers 150 HP at 5,750 RPM and 200 Nm of torque at 5,000 RPM. A new Sadev five-speed sequential gearbox with plated limited slip differential can be adjusted across three different ramps, and is assisted by an AP Racing single disc clutch.

The suspension includes Bilsten ride height adjustable dampers, and Eibach springs come with the option of hard, medium or soft – as does an optional anti-roll bar to further enhance set-up configurations

The power-assisted steering is column mounted, and a Life Racing F88 ECU and ECUMASTER gear display with integrated shift lights ensure that the latest crop of young drivers have all they need to start developing a career in rally.

The conversion kit is priced at €26,990.00 + VAT (not including donor car or wheels), and the fully-built, ready-to-race car is priced at €45,990.00 + VAT. A conversion kit is also available so that the customer can upgrade the same car to the latest Ford Fiesta R2 specification when ready.

Further information can be found in the Technical Specification, and those wishing to make an order, or interested in further sales advice, should contact Kamil Kozdroń at the following email address: kkozdron@m-sport.co.uk

M-Sport Poland Director, Maciej Woda, said: “This is the latest car to be developed at M-Sport Poland and another project that we are all extremely proud of. The same passion and effort that went into the design of the all-new Ford Fiesta R2 has gone into this car, and I’m looking forward to seeing who will impress behind the wheel.

“As the first step on the ladder, the Ford Fiesta R1 is the perfect car for those first starting out in a career in rally. It’s in this car that the starts of the future learn the skills that can take them to the very highest level. The same car can be easily upgraded to the latest R2 specification when ready, before progressing to the Ford Fiesta R5 and maybe even WRC!”

Senior Manager at Ford Performance, Gerard Quinn, said:

“Our Ford Fiesta line up in rally has now been totally refreshed with the introduction of the new Fiesta R1, R2 and R5 reflecting the most youthful product line-up available to compete with in rally in national and global competition. This is a living example of democratising our performance where privateers get to compete in and win championships around the world in a Ford.”
