Merzouga Rally 2020; New Format; Last Dakar qualifying event
The Merzouga Rally changes its formula for the 2020 edition with a desire to represent a gateway to the world of rally-raid while remaining a qualifying event for the Dakar.
The pilots and crews will express themselves for 5 days on demanding and varied courses in race conditions (helicopter, doctors…). Everyone will evolve at their own pace with navigation as the main classification criterion.

2 engagement formulas: with or without Roadbook !
This year, cars will be able to join motorcycles (enduros accepted), quads and SSVs drivers (serial vehicles accepted) with 90 km of autonomy. Pilots and crews will have 2 possible entry formulas:
The Rally Test (qualifier for the Dakar): progress under the real conditions of a Rally-Raid with RoadBook colors and navigation instruments identical to the Dakar : “Find your way!”.
The Raid (non-qualifying for the Dakar): a discovery formula, without classification, where the pilots, equipped with their own Garmin GPS, will be guided throughout the day. Same route as the Rally Test with smal differences : “follow the tracks!”.
Top level coaches
To support rookies and those who wish to improve, several experts and champions of the discipline, former winners or present on the Dakar podium, will facilitate sessions (safety, navigation, driving skills, physical preparation…) and make themselves available for personalized advice, including on the field.

In order to allow a larger number of pilots to discover the world of rally raid, the prices are inexpensive and include accommodation at the Xaluca hotel as well as catering.

February 20th: Opening of the Registrations
March 31st: End of the 1st rate and change to the 2nd registration rate
May 8th : Closing of the registrations
May 24th : Scrutineering and start of the Rally.
