The TATRA TRUCKS company and Buggyra Racing represented by CEO Pavel Lazar and team manager Jan Kalivoda have this week agreed on prolonging the TATRA Buggyra cooperation for two more years.
That means continuation of the successful TATRA Buggyra Racing project that brough several stage victories from the world toughest cross-country races such as Silk Way Rallye and Dakar Rallye. “We have evaluated our previous contract and have agreed that it is beneficial for both sides and we want this partnership to continue,” said Jan Kalivoda. “On the one hand we have a worldwide brand know not only for its Dakar activities, on the other we have global company able to deal with any given technological challenges,” he added.
“The data and experiences collected from races such as Dakar Rallye are really important for our future development, so we are delighted and honored that we can continue with the TATRA Buggyra Racing project,” commented Ing. Pavel Lazar.
The level of cooperation according to Jan Kalivoda can also be seen on the preparations for Dakar 2021. “The upcoming Dakar Rallye will certainly be tough for all competitors. But we are still going according to the plan and are working hard to have two Dakar race trucks ready with a goal of elite TOP10 finish.”
Martin Koloc owner of the Buggyra Racing team had no doubts that the cooperation would continue. “We have already started working on our Dakar race trucks as soon as we have returned from this years Dakar. We are switching to automatic transmission and are looking into the ways of optimizing the weight distribution. We want to maximize the performance of our Tatra Phoenix and have invested heavily into the development even before the new contract was signed,” The TATRA Buggyra cooperation isn’t solely focused on Dakar however. “There are more various development projects right now results of which we should see in the near future,” added Koloc.
