· FIA World Rally Championship launches state-of-the-art digital service
· Extension allows fans to deck home page with WRC wallpaper
· Wallpapers feature action photographs and news updates
· WRC is first motorsport series to offer personalised start-up pages
The FIA World Rally Championship has become the first motorsport series to allow fans to customise their web browser home page.
The launch of the WRC’s Google Chrome home page extension allows enthusiasts to choose free 4K HD themes, background images and news updates to enjoy the best of the championship each time they open their browser.
WRC Promoter has teamed up with BrandTURBO to connect more closely with fans, joining top soccer clubs like Manchester City and AC Milan and world champion boxer Anthony Joshua.
The extension features the latest updates from the WRC’s extensive news service and the best images from the championship’s photographic team, which will be refreshed after each rally.
Users can choose to follow the main WRC platform or personalise their view with wallpapers featuring the series’ three top-level manufacturer teams – Hyundai Motorsport, M-Sport Ford and Toyota Gazoo Racing.
The easy-to-use download allows fans to install the WRC extension from the Google Chrome Web Store at https://go.brandturbo.vip/wrc. It is free and compatible with Chrome OS, Mac and Windows.
WRC Promoter’s senior director for content and communication, Florian Ruth, said the extension provided an innovative way for fans to feel even more connected with the championship.
“I’m delighted WRC is leading the way in global motorsport by launching this new asset for our fans,” he added.
“Every time they open their browser, they can enjoy the latest updates from the championship, and this is another fun and modern digital asset to add to our already strong portfolio.”
