T Sport Bernau is the first Goodyear FIA ETRC team to be awarded with the one-star level of the FIA Environmental Accreditation Programme for their efforts to reduce their impact on the environment.

The programme developed by the FIA aims to help key players in the motorsport and automotive sector to measure and enhance their environmental performance by means of an independent certification process.

T Sport Bernau has demonstrated an overall solid environmental commitment with willingness to follow up public expectations towards environmental management.

Pointed out as their strongest attribute, was a significant reduction in the environmental impact of the logistics and transport area of their operations and the fact that they are striving to be the most efficient team within the championship.

Noted within the accreditation is the team’s environmental policy, which expresses their overall commitment to:

  • Reducing the CO2 footprint of their activities, with particular focus on the logistics of their operations combined with running the race truck on 100% renewable biofuel.
  • Monitoring the use of energy and making sure their workshop is only using 100% green energy.
  • Educating and motivating employees and team members to carry out tasks in an environmentally responsible manner.
  • Focusing on recycling as much waste as possible.
  • Reducing the water usage in the workshop by collecting, storing and using rain water.

The recognition by the FIA is a first important step for the team, as they continue to work closely with the FIA and ETRA to improve their activities with regard to sustainability, and to make a difference to the environmental impact of the sport.
