Kerry Motor Club has filled its entry list for the new Rose Hotel Kerry Summer Mini Stages Rally. R The event has reached its maximum capacity of 140 competing crews, who will tackle six stages in the general Castleisland area. The rally draws drivers from across the country, with a mix of national competitors, local club members, and newcomers.
Headquartered at The Rose Hotel in Tralee, the event’s service park will be located at the Castleisland Mart complex. The mini stages rally counts as a scoring round for the Top Part West Coast Rally Championship, the GK Print Southern 4 Rally Championship, and the Moriarty’s Central Car Sales Kingdom of Kerry Rally Championship.
Monaghan’s Johno Doogan leads the field away as top seed, having finished second overall at the last winter rally in November 2024. Armagh’s Jason Black follows in a rear-wheel-drive Toyota Starlet after competing in Saturday’s Loughgall Rally in Armagh and travelling to Kerry overnight.
Kenmare’s Vincent O’Shea leads the local entries in a Darrian T90 GTR and is the top seeded he GK Print Southern 4 Rally Championship contender.
Top seeded Kerry Motor Club contenders include Tommy Mason and Mike Quinn, both campaigning Ford Escorts. Mason and co-driver Paul McGlinchey, alongside the crew of Quinn and Kieran Doherty, strengthen the local challenge in Class 14.
Killarney and District Motor Club are represented by Dave Slattery and Denis Coffey who lead the Class 13 field in the Top Part West Coast Championship.
KDMC is also represented by Denis Hickey and Eoin O’Leary in a Class 14 Escort.
Tralee’s Darren Young and co-driver Pa Lawlor aim to take the lead of the Kingdom of Kerry Championship in their Honda Civic in the absence of defending champion Rob Duggan. Alan Ring also returns to the stages in a Subaru Impreza 555 and leads the historic class.
The first car departs The Rose Hotel at 9:00am on Sunday morning, heading to the stages and the Castleisland Mart service area. The official event programme is on sale locally from this week, featuring the full 140-car entry list and timetable.
