The map for the Africa Eco Race 2027 has finally been unveiled.
For this 18th edition, the adventure will once again head south, from Tangier to the legendary Pink Lake , crossing Morocco, Mauritania, and Senegal. The route is designed to capture the essence of the Africa Eco Race: wide-open spaces, navigation, sand, and stages where endurance will make all the difference.
After a first edition starting in Tangier in 2026, the city will once again host the administrative and technical checks , before the grand departure on January 24, 2027. The competitors will set off on the prologue organized on the municipal beach facing the Atlantic, which will determine the starting order of the first stage.
Morocco will truly kick off the race with a succession of varied terrain, alternating between fast tracks, technical sections , and navigation. A demanding first part, where finding the right rhythm from the very first kilometers will be crucial.
In Mauritania , the rally will enter a new dimension. Expect wide open spaces, dunes, and long desert stages. A decisive second week where navigation, mechanical management, and endurance will be more crucial than ever.
Senegal will offer a third setting, radically different from the landscapes encountered so far. Competitors will navigate the heart of the African savannah, among baobab trees , during a special stage full of character .
Before reaching Lac Rose , they will then compete in “La Plage ,” the final special stage of the adventure. A last iconic sequence before the final podium, which will no longer count towards the overall standings but will conclude the rally in a setting that has become inseparable from the Africa Eco Race.
Modern race, Historic, Raid: everyone will experience the course in their own way, but all will share the same destination and the same adventure.
Three countries. Twelve stages. Three settings. One finish line.
The detailed route , with mileages and specifics of the different categories, including Modern Race and Historic , will be revealed after the reconnaissance, at the end of November .
The story continues.
